Apart from the pain in the butt factor, its good that apple is getting the the most up to date player out there into the hands of non developer folks to run our applications. Maybe just set up an applescript to install the debug version again.

Whenever OS X updates, you can expect to lose your debug player. Usually, Flex Builder will complain but it won't fix the problem.

This is one of the many reasons that Sprouts (http://www.projectsprouts.org) installs and runs it's own debug player instead of the installed default.

Problem solved.

I have come to find that anytime I get an update from Apple I have to reinstall the debug version of flash player. Over all 10.5.2 has helped me, the Wi-Fi is much better now and a few other things seem to be smoothed out too.

This "issue" has been hitting our studio for a while now. It's compounded by our IT dept. who'll run system updates on the quiet. Usually it ends up in a ripple of "fucking apple..." being grumbled around the office.

Someone should bill them for the lost time....
